New Zealand cannabis arrests in 2012 show sharp increase (up 75%)

The war on drugs is essentially a war on cannabis.

The report talks about drug related crime – but these offences are drug defined crime (supply/possess etc).

If drugs were decriminalised the police could instead concentrate upon catching criminals who commit offences like sexual abuse, physical violence, burglary and fraud – instead of the people growing or selling cannabis.
